Feelin the Phills

As Philadelphia sits in wait for the latest and long awaited trip to a major sports championship, the word around town is, "ANXIOUS". I've been talking to everyone and responses have been a wide range of anxiety and nervousness with a sprinkling of hope. Here are some thoughts going around this great town. First and foremost is that noone wants to be beat by another no-fan-following Tampa Bay team. We had the Bucs beat our Eagles and then the Lightening took out our Flyboys, and now these kids from the Devil Rays. There may be a significant loss in travel plans to Tampa for years to come as the residual effect is felt by many who just can't hear or read Tampa Bay ever again. My friend Hunter pointed out that the Phills last win in the World Series came in the year 1980 and now it is 2008. 80-08. That works for me. All can say is that the Phills have a chance to lock up their bid for the cities most loved team as the last to win for what may be a while, but who knows this time it could be another three in a couple years. Man I hope so. Anyway, I hope everyone will show their support at the cities rally, Wednesday at City Hall, Dilworth Plaza at noon. Lets paint this town RED. Go PHILLIES.
